- Graduate Blessing is May 6th.
- Applications for the Lutheran College Tuition Grant for fall semester should be filed by Tuesday, May 15th with the church office. If you’re a member of St. John’s and attending a Lutheran affiliated school then your school likely offers a matching grant up to $500. Get your application from the church office.
ADVENTURE CAMP AND UPPER CAMP
Adventure Camp and Upper Camp will be held at Lutheran Memorial Camp in Fulton, Ohio, June 22nd – 24th.
Our theme this year is Shipwrecked: Jesus Rescues! Emergency forms and camp papers will be mailed mid-May to those who have registered. If you have any questions, please talk to Laurie Pecuch or email her at lpecuch@stjohnsgc.org. Please return camper forms by Sunday, June 10th.
CONFIRMATION
Parents of 6th Graders: It’s time to start thinking about confirmation for your son or daughter. Confirmation typically begins in August of a student’s 7th grade year. If your son or daughter plans to be a part of the catechism program next fall, please get your email address to Gary Pecuch. He has some “save the date” type information for you. PRAYER BUDDIES FOR YOUTH ATTENDING THE ACADEMY AT HEARTLAND
Gary and Laurie pair up children with teens going to the academy with the sole purpose of praying for each other. There is a prayer buddy send-off at the contemporary worship on June 3rd. Children and teens who can attend this send-off meet each other. The next day the teens go to The Academy at Heartland for four days of fun leadership and faith skill building. If you have a child who would like to be a prayer buddy, please let Laurie know by Sunday, May 20th. She has some information she will get to you about specifically how your child can pray his or her teen. And we love it when we can pair up more than one child with a teen, so the more the merrier. YOUNG ADULTS NEEDED
Young adults needed to do small chores at minimal charge for our homebound or older members. If you are able to remove leaves from gutters, pick up sticks in yard, carry boxes, and other spring chores, please give your name to Laurie Pecuch.
SCRIP GIFT CARD
SCRIP makes a great graduate gift! Consider purchasing scrip cards from the youth department. Scrip has cards for everything from i-tunes, to gas cards, to the major stores, to the favorite restaurants. Obtain an order form from the youth office door (top slot). Return scrip forms and payment to the church office or a paid youth staff person. Scrip orders are placed on the first Tuesday of the month and orders arrive within the week.
