This Weeks Teaching
Joseph was his father’s favorite son, gifted for all to see. His story is not that different than many of ours. The jealousy of Joseph’s family led to a life-time of slavery, hardship and grief. At each turn in the story, just when Joseph was about to be rescued, he was thrown back into the bottom of a dark hole in the ground. How does faith survive that? And even more so, thrive? Throughout the story of Joseph’s life, we continually see the blessing that God pours out through him, even in the worst of circumstances. We approach one of the last stories shared with us about Joseph’s life, only to be confronted with one of the most challenging verses in the Bible: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Throughout our Unleashed Bible Study, we have been wrestling with what it means to live on this side of the Rolled Stone. Let us look at Joseph’s life and learn what it means to be Unleashed.

His brothers then came and threw themselves down before him. “We are your slaves,” they said.
But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.[/x_columnize][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][cs_section parallax=”false” style=”margin: 0px;padding: 45px 0px;”][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_line style=”border-top-width: 1px;”][/cs_column][/cs_row][cs_row inner_container=”false” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”2/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_custom_headline level=”h4″ looks_like=”h4″ accent=”false”]This Week’s Questions[/x_custom_headline][cs_text class=”cs-ta-justify”]These questions can be brought to our small group, Community in The Word, on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 9:30AM. Child care is provided for those kids who are not in Sunday School. We do ask that you read the above lesson, scripture and answer the questions in advance – so that the Spirit of God can begin to stir up questions, thoughts, ideas and your heart.[/cs_text]
