Community in the Word October 22nd, 2017 @ 9:30am
Community in the Word is our effort to be people of the Word. To read it and to let the Word of God read us, challenge us, and change us into the Image of God. Join us for this experiment in community with the Word at the center.
This Week’s Teaching
As St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grove City continues to embrace the vision of being disciples who make disciples who make disciples… Welcome to our month long focus: “Giving to God – The Bible’s Good News About a Generous Life.” Join us for Super Sunday School as we look at this facet of discipleship! All of our Bible Studies & Sunday School classes are meeting in the FLC (Gym) as we hear a short teaching & presentation, have small group discussions, move forward with action steps, and enjoy breakfast.
Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to entangle him in his words. And they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God truthfully, and you do not care about anyone’s opinion, for you are not swayed by appearances. Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?” But Jesus, aware of their malice, said, “Why put me to the test, you hypocrites? Show me the coin for the tax.” And they brought him a denarius. And Jesus said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” They said, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”When they heard it, they marveled. And they left him and went away.

Community in the Word
Sunday at 9:30am. Being together in the Word is central to our faith
Worship Shaped by the Word
While the preaching scripture for worship is different, these CITW help to shape worship each week
Every Sunday @ 9:30 am – 10:30 am – FAMILY LIFE CENTER
Join us for CITW, a communal bible study where we learn together what it means to live our faith. Each week we’ll release a lesson, accompanied scripture. The hope is that you read and study prior to arriving on Sunday. Then stick around and see how the New Testament Scripture echos throughout our Worship service and connects to the Psalm and focus of the sermon.
