The farmer is not in charge of making the seed grow. The farmer works tirelessly to create the right environment so that God can do the growing. Testing the soil; providing the proper irrigation; knowing when to plant and harvest–all are parts of the equation that the farmer sweats and frets over.  In the end, the growing is God’s work.

So it is with us. We recognize in our pursuit to grow as disciples, that the growing is the work of the Holy Spirit. Yet we work very hard to provide the right environment for the Holy Spirit to unleash His power.  In oder for you to better take ownership of your growth plan, we have provided ‘the Growth’ label or tag. this provides an identification system to the many events and gathering we offer at St. John’s.

At a grow event you can expect to invest time in the Word of God together. You will also work through some reflective questions alone or in a group setting. Our goal is that grow events teach you and stir your faith. Maybe every event won’t move the needle–but our hope is that over time the Spirit will grab ahold of you and lead you deeper into faith and discipleship.
