Two Opportunities to Help Hurricane Victims
Thanks so much to all of you who have donated items or gift cards to aid our fellow Americans that have been affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Many churches in the area have donated items to our church to be shipped out through our partnership with the NALC Disaster Relief Team. Wednesday afternoon a truck will be coming to St. John’s to load up flood buckets, diapers, pet food, and bottled waters sometime around 3:00 PM. Volunteers are needed to help load these items onto the truck. Some of the cases of water are heavy, but diapers and pet food are fairly light. This is a great opportunity for people of all ages to feel like they are helping is some way.
On Sunday, immediately following the late service, we will be assembling personal care packages for the hurricane victims from all of the supplies that have been donated. A light lunch will be provided. This event is family friendly and a good way to get in some service hours if needed.
