We are excited to announce that beginning Sunday, January 6, 2019 – Contemporary Worship will now begin at 11:00 AM.
Our worship service is built upon the same principles as our traditional liturgical worship–and yet it is completely different. Beyond the obvious differences (the screen; the band; the space) this gathering works to meld the Word of God, the life of the people, and the language of today. While all of St. John’s is a community of faith, the leadership of the contemporary worship service works hard to unite those gathered around the Word, the Sacraments, the praise, and the lives of the people. All of this, of course, centers on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is the reason we gather.
We take Jesus at His Word. He said He would be with us as we gather. As such, we come to worship expecting to encounter our risen Lord. Often this is through traditional worship elements; sometimes it is through our creative interactive elements. We are excited for you to join us!
If you have questions, please feel free to contact Pastor Seth Jersild, Nick Grossman, or David Shrum!
