This Weeks Teaching
The last chapter of Isaiah builds upon the hope and restoration of the preceding chapters. Isaiah is building to a crescendo of salvation and restoration. Here we read of God’s motherly love and the ways in which the Lord’s love overshadows, protects, nourishes, and shelters as Israel is comforted in the wake of all they have endured (and brought on themselves).

As a mother comforts her child,

When you see this, your heart will rejoice

the hand of the Lord will be made known to his servants,
