Waqaa (pronounced wah-ca), meaning “hello” in Yup’ik, the native language of the amazing people from Scammon Bay, Alaska!

The children, youth and people of Scammon Bay have touched our hearts tremendously, and for that reason the Alaska Mission Steering Committee is sad to announce that due to unforeseen circumstances, we are not sending a mission team to Alaska this summer.

However, we are continuing to support the mission teams from Royal Redeemer (North Royalton, Ohio) and St. John’s (Ocala, Florida) with prayer and also providing them with items that will help to ensure the success of the 2017 mission.

Although we are not sending a team of our own this year, we are already starting to prepare for the 2018 mission trip and are looking for others to join us.  If you are feeling called to serve, but are unsure where God is calling you, we would love to hear from you!  It is very possible that He is calling you to Alaska!  It’s never too early to start preparing for next year’s mission trip.  If you are interested in learning more, please contact Tim Althoff at 582-3733.

Quyana (which means “thank you”) for your continued prayers, love, and financial support for the Alaska Mission and the people of Scammon Bay!

Blessings,

-The Alaskan Mission Steering Committee
